intersection of the John Muir and Pacific Crest trails |
|
This trail starts at Agnew Meadows. Park at the second parking lot (North of the PCT lot) and enter the River Trail. From the River Trail you head South to Reds Meadows. The trail descends to the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin river, meeting the Pacific Crest Trail. While along the PCT you can follow the wood plaques on the trees (trail markers instead of blazes on the trees) to ensure you are on the correct trail.
After passing Minaret
Falls
you come across an intersection of the John Muir Trail and Pacific
Crest
Trail. Follow the John Muir Trail to Reds Meadow. Reds
Meadow
has a convenience store, a nice diner, horseback riding, and hot
showers.
